As an advertising account manager, your job is to create press releases and release information about your clients to outside sources. You will probably need to use different media sources to create an advantageous public image of your client. You may use television, radio, magazines, newspapers, and the Internet to accomplish this feat. In addition, you may be required to help other members of your business create and design artwork and company logos for your client. You may also need to write speeches for your clients. Your job may also require you to create promotional presentations that could be used during special meetings. You may also be required to arrange conferences and conventions in order to promote the issues that your client deems as important. You will also be responsible for sale promotions and advertising promotions.

It is expected that the advertising account manager job outlook will increase by around twenty-four percent. This increase will happen between 2008 and 2018. Training and Education Requirements

Many employers prefer that you have a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on marketing. It would also benefit you if you have taken courses in business law, management, economics, accounting, mathematics, statistics, and financing. It will also benefit you if you complete an internship while you are obtaining your degree.

If you plan on being a part of a technical industry that deals with computers and other electronics, you may need to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science. You will also need a Master’s degree in business administration.

If you plan on working within the advertising management industry, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in advertising or journalism. You will benefit from taking classes in marketing, consumer behavior, and market research.

As far as experience goes, you should have experience as a sales representative, a purchasing agent, or a promotions/public relations specialist.
